Foreign students
This section provides important information for foreign students who may be interested in attending courses conducted by the Department Business Economics, Health and Social Care.

Permits

Cross-border students may attend bachelor’s and master’s courses conducted by the Department without having to apply for student permits. The only document they require in order to cross the border into Switzerland is an attendance certificate (issued by the Department).
However, depending on individual circumstances (student from an EU country, student from country outside the EU, foreign student resident in Switzerland, etc.), various other documents might be required.
During their study programmes (when completing work experience periods) all foreign students will have to apply for work permits, following the procedure specified by the Departmental Administrative Office.
Before applying to the Agno Foreigners’ Office for a permit, those interested in enrolling on a DEASS degree course must first send a completed application form to the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care. Then, provided they meet the admission requirements, they must sit an examination ranking applicants in order of merit.
Prospective students should contact the Foreigners’ Office only once they have been accepted onto their chosen degree course.

Conditions

Note that for students without civil and fiscal domicile in Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Campione d'Italia, the bachelor’s and master’s courses conducted by the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care incur annual fees of CHF.- 3'200.
