The Centre will develop and promote easy-tech, reproducible efficient, culturally appropriate and socially productive solutions serving Southern Ethiopian rural and peri-urban communities.

Image CLARA: Arduino-based appropriate solution to disinfect water at community scale in Ethiopia

CLARA is a pilot system to improve water disinfection and to guarantee an adequate concentration of FRC. The system is composed by two ferro-cement tanks, aiming at avoiding lack of water due to frequent electric black outs, and an Arduino controller to automatically insert the right amount of sodium hypochlorite.

The city of Fès as a locus to investigate migration processes on the move

The project aims to map and elicit how practices of formal/informal participation and social commitments, including policy of control of migrants, are shaped in Fès, by concentrating on urban citizenship, in particular in understanding how processes of inclusion/exclusion, social experiments, spontaneous and/or organized social and political forms of aggregation and interpretation of the concept of “right to the city” and informal development (United Nations-Habitat, 2014) take place and how they can induce a form, although informal and temporary, of participation.

Avec le but de “contribuer à la baisse des taux de morbidité et mortalité imputables aux maladies hydriques et à un assainissement insuffisant” et un coût de 10 millions CHF, WATSAN entre 2011 et 2015, dans 31 structures sanitaires et hospitalières au Rwanda, 13 au Burundi et 68 au Congo.
