Dati anagrafici Andrea Danani è nato a Losanna il 16 dicembre 1962. Possiede la doppia nazionalità svizzera e italiana. Attinenza: Lugano (CH)

Formazione Ottiene il diploma in fisica al Politecnico di Zurigo nel 1987 con una tesi sul decadimento del Bosone Z0 in 4 fermioni con il Prof. Zoltan Kunszt. In seguito, frequenta gli studi di dottorato presso la Scuola Internazionale di Studi Superiori Avanzati (SISSA) di Trieste dove consegue il PhD in fisica teorica nel 1992 con una tesi su modelli per la supercondutività a alte temperature con il Prof. Mario Rasetti. I periodi di postdottorato si sono svolti presso i dipartimenti di fisica del Politecnico di Torino e delle Università di Milano e Genova.

Esperienze professionali Ha lavorato presso il CSCS di Manno in qualità di ricercatore e organizzando i campus scientifici estivi C3 per liceali maturandi svizzeri. Dopo 4 anni di insegnamento in fisica al Liceo di Mendrisio, si trasferisce in SUPSI nel 2001 e diventa professore nel 2006. Ha acquisito e diretto svariati progetti di ricerca soprattutto nella simulazione numerica di nanocompositi e di sistemi di rilascio di farmaci. Dal 2010 al 2012 è stato responsabile della ricerca al Laboratorio di Fisica e Matematica applicata nell'Ingegneria al DTI. Dal 2005, insegna al Master Alari all'USI di Lugano.
