  • The Bachelor programme in Betriebsökonomie, conducted in parallel with professional working activity, provides students with the skills required in order to perform senior managerial roles, opening up a vast range of career opportunities.
    This course will enable students to develop an in-depth understanding of business administration topics, and, having completed the core components of the programme, they will be able to specialise in their selected area of interest, choosing one of the following five interesting options:
    - Accounting, Controlling & Taxation.
    - Finance & Banking.
    - General Management.
    - Human Resource Management.
    - Marketing & Communications.

Objectives

The Bachelor programme in Betriebsökonomie provides solid, generalist foundations on which to develop successful solutions to complex economic problems. Students can acquire specialist knowledge that is scientifically valid in all areas of business management, and integrate their skill sets with interdisciplinary aspects such as economics, commercial law or Business English.
The practice-oriented approach adopted during this study programme will allow students to combine theoretical knowledge with professional practice, therefore satisfying a fundamental criterion of today’s employment market.


Skills
  • Graduates possess a sound understanding of all the operational areas related to business administration, economics, business law, business English and applied business mathematics.
  • They envisage companies as complex and dynamic social and productive systems, typified by numerous links and interactions.
  • They possess an overview of descriptive and inductive statistical evaluation methods. They also understand the main features of the most significant empirical research methods, citation rules and different research sources related to business administration topics.

Admission requirements

Applicants possessing the following qualifications are admitted to the Bachelor programme:
- vocational high school leaving examination;
- high school leaving examination with one year of work experience*;
- diploma from a vocational high school (HF)*: admission decided case-by-case, or in the 5th semester for applicants with HF Business Administrator qualification.
Direct admission to the programme may be granted to applicants who have completed tertiary-level studies* (federal vocational qualification, Federal Diploma, or who are aged more than 25 and who have significant training and work experience; applicants belonging to this category must sit an admission examination.
In order to prepare properly for the admission examination, applicants are advised to complete the Admission Examination Preparation Course.

*In the same field of study or in a related field of study (subject to approval).

Career prospects

A Bachelor degree in Betriebsökonomie qualifies graduates to take on medium and high-level managerial responsibility in various organisations and sectors.
