  • Nutrition is a fascinating professional field. The topic is part of everyday life, related to everybody and a source of pleasure. In dietetics, an understanding of nutrition is utilised to help people who are sick. Medical-scientific knowledge and psycho-social understanding are applied equally. The Bachelor in Ernährung & Diätetik programme offers a solid vocational qualification and the opportunity to enter a diversified professional sector.

Objectives

During the core programme, students acquire knowledge in the fields of nutrition, anatomy, physiology, and in how to conduct consultations. During their specialisation studies, students focus on dietetics, the consultation process and practical training. Great importance is attached to attaining an overview of the various professional sectors and of the scientific working mode.


Skills
  • General understanding of the healthcare policy (priorities and requirements of the healthcare policy).
  • Specific professional skills and methodological competences (scientific skills, evidence-based practice, measures for improving quality of life, clinical thinking, best practice in terms of service/treatment provision).
  • Professionalism and sense of responsibility (recognition of limits, ethics, capacity for personal development, research skills, autonomy).
  • Abilities in terms of communications, interaction, documentation (collaborative approach, managing relations with clients and relatives, documentation).

Admission requirements

Applicants possessing the following qualifications are admitted to the Bachelor programme:
- vocational high school leaving examination;
- technical high school leaving examination;
- high school leaving examination;
- diploma from a technical high school (HF) in the healthcare sector.
