Credits acquired in other universities are not automatically recognised since it is necessary to verify details and content levels in comparison with the course of study attended.
If there are agreements between universities, this recognition is automatic and fosters mobility during the programme or when studying for higher degrees.
One credit corresponds to approximately 25-30 hours of presumed work for the average student, including time spent preparing for and sitting required examinations; 60 credits correspond to one year of full-time study.
In courses running parallel to professional working activity, part of this activity, with contents and results certified by SUPSI, goes toward acquiring credits. The 180 credits earned in three years of full time study can be earned in four or five years of study conducted in parallel to part time working activity in a profession related to the study programme.
