Southern Switzerland Innovation Forum
In terms of innovation, where does Southern Switzerland stand on the national and international stage? This question is the focus of the Southern Switzerland Innovation Forum, an event held every two years, organised by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana - SUPSI) with the aim of measuring the level of innovation, and the capacity to innovate, in Ticino.

For many years now, the future of both developed and developing countries, in all economic sectors and particularly in Europe, has been closely linked to innovation capacity.
We are also witnessing the powerful emergence of a new concept of innovation, stating that the social and organisational aspects of work, together with the manner in which work is structured, should be combined with the traditional concepts associated with the development and commercialisation of new products, processes and services.

Within this context, Southern Switzerland must also constantly benchmark its position in Switzerland, in Europe, and more generally, at the international level.

Aware of the importance of innovation as regards economic and social development, and cognizant of its institutional role, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland decided to organise the first forum dedicated wholly to this topic. Entitled “The Southern Switzerland Innovation Forum”, the event will be held every two years, with the inaugural edition in November 2017.
