Education and training János Barta studied mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich (ETHZ).

Work experience From 1998 to 2003 he worked as a researcher and lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). Since 2003 he is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and since 2004 is an associate researcher with the Istituto dalle Molle di Studi sull'Intelligenza Artificiale (IDSIA).

Skills His main research interests are combinatorial and robust optimization.
