Education and training Salvatore Vanini received a degree in computer science engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 1998.

Work experience Since 2007, he is Researcher at the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) of SUPSI. Since 2010, he is a Senior Researcher at the Networking Lab of DTI.

Skills His subjects of interest and expertise cover Wireless Mesh Networks, DTN and opportunistic networks, seamless mobility support, indoor localization, and activity recognition.

Awards Best DEMO award at WoWMoM 2010, Montreal, Canada, June 2010, for the paper "Proximity Marketing Solution Tailored to User Needs".
