Didactic methods
At the Centre for Languages the research team conducts projects focusing on innovative didactic methodologies that can support the learning process.

The unit is currently working on the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach at various educational levels, by developing scenarios that aim to improve student motivation and outcomes.

This approach is based on the teaching of a specific subject area (e.g. mathematics) taught in a non-native language. Based on an empiricist approach and qualitative research, the unit investigates research questions regarding the impact of the CLIL approach on the acquisition of both subject-related and language competences.

In order to promote the continuing education of its teachers, the Centre for Languages designs and conducts regular workshops on a range of topics relevant to the field of didactic methods.
