The Master’s programmes conducted by the Department, a winning formula at the national level

The Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care conducts three master’s programmes: the Master in Business Administration, the Master in Nursing, and the Master en Travail social, in collaboration with the Haute Ecole Specialisée de Suisse Occidentale (HES-SO).
The master’s degrees awarded have Federal recognition, are compatible with degrees awarded by EU countries, and are worth a total of 90 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).

The curriculum is structured in accordance with the Bachelor-Master system, and a Master’s degree is awarded on completion of the programme. Students study at SUPSI, but at the same time benefit from a high-profile, national model, on a par with equivalent programmes in Switzerland and abroad, and clearly distinct from university continuing education programmes.

Since 2008, SUP institutes have conducted Master’s programmes based on Bachelor-level studies. These master’s courses provide in-depth, specialist knowledge, and the degree awarded certifies that students have further developed their professional qualifications.

Below you can find the courses conducted by the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care:

  • Master in Business Administration

  • Master in Nursing

  • Master en Travail Social (Social work), in collaboration with the Haute Ecole Specialisée de Suisse Occidentale (HES-SO)*

Decisions regarding the qualifications to be awarded for each sector are made nationally by SUP institutes; more specifically, the Master in Business Administration and the Master in Nursing courses lead to a Master of Science qualification, while the Master in Travail social leads to a Master of Arts qualification. All degrees are authorised by the Federal Department of the Economy (Dipartimento Federale dell’Economia - DFE).

* Courses designed in collaboration with other SUP institutes in Switzerland.
