  • A CHF 200 fee must be paid when the application is made. This fee is not reimbursable, and cannot be deducted from the semester fee.
  • Course fee
  • The semester fee amounts to 1,600 CHF. This sum is reduced to 800 CHF for students who benefit from the application of the ASUP Intercantonal Agreement for Vocational Universities (Swiss nationality or civil and fiscal domicile in Switzerland or in Liechtenstein). Specific agreements apply for students residing in Campione d’Italia. Contribution to didactic costs: CHF 160 per semester.

Skills

At the end of the Master’s programme, students will be able to:

  • Apply the principles of inter-professional collaboration at all levels (from patient care to the managerial level).
  • Utilise the research results in a range of different fields in order to find innovative solutions to complex problems, including the challenges associated with the sustainability of the healthcare system, and with furthering the necessary procedural and organisational innovations.   
  • Participate in research projects.
  • Adopt project management and process improvement methods in order to improve care in terms of quality and safety, and to raise the levels of patient and staff satisfaction.
  • Apply transformational leadership aimed at empowering patients, family members and colleagues, developing their potential to full.
  • Highlight the contribution made by nursing to determining the success and performance of an organisation as a whole.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing Care is granted directly to applicants who have an employment contract with clinical practice (at least 50%), and who possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Care
  • Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) or Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in General Clinical Nursing
    - B1 English certification, to be presented

Applicants with one of the following qualifications may be admitted to the Master’s programme:

  • Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) or Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Healthcare Management
    - Certification of two specific modules of a General Clinical Nursing DAS programme 
    - B1 English Certification, to be presented 
  • Diploma SSS (Specialist Secondary School - Scuola specializzata superiore) and certification in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Emergency Care
    - Attendance and certification of two preparatory modules for admission to SUPSI DAS/MAS programmes  (“Scientific approach and practice based on efficacy tests” and “Management of complex clinical situations”)
    - B1 English Certification, to be presented
  • Completion of SSFS programme in Teaching/Management or Clinical Nursing I or II*
    - Abbreviated SUPSI programme leading to a Bachelor degree in Nursing Care for nurses with diploma, or attendance and certification of two specific modules of a General Clinical Nursing DAS programme, and of the preparatory module “Scientific approach and practice based on efficacy tests”
    - B1 English Certification, to be presented

Should more than 20 applications be received, applicants will be ranked in accordance with specific criteria determined by the Master’s programme Management team.
 
* Recent professional activity is required (of at least 3 years)
