MAFALDA - MAthematics For Algorithms, Life sciences and DAta
30 giugno 2022
East Campus USI-SUPSI, Lugano-Viganello (Sala Polivalente - Sector A, ground floor)
MAFALDA is an event hosted by the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) of SUPSI as part of the five-day conference "Arrangements in Ticino". It is organized by Emanuele Delucchi (SUPSI), Christin Bibby (Louisiana State U), Filippo Callegaro (U Pisa) and Masahiko Yoshinaga (U Osaka).

Recent advances in computational, data and life sciences have blurred the distinction between "pure" and "applied" mathematics. We present three instances of this fruitful, two-way interaction between abstract theory and applied setting. All are welcome.

*The talk "Data meets Topology: an invitation to persistent homology" is organized as a joint event by SUPSI and Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), in collaboration with the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence USI-SUPSI and the Euler Institute of USI.
