The foundation

The Reteca Foundation gives young engineers the possibility to work in projects of applied research at SUPSI and to follow a postgraduate degree. The grantees, whose aim is, after their stay at SUPSI, to go back to their country of origin, take advantage of the knowledge acquired while giving courses back at their universities and plan to use the new competencies for an expansion of the services provided by the universities to the local economy contributing to the creation of new jobs on the spot.

Selection criteria

The Reteca Foundation, in collaboration with SUPSI, chooses the grantees from developing countries according to the following criteria:

  • good curriculum of study
  • focus on Latin America countries
  • candidates recommended by local universities (long-time partnerships)
  • preference to candidates interested in activities in fields compatible with the knowledge present at SUPSI

The Reteca Foundation, in collaboration with SUPSI, offers 3 to 4 grants a year by covering travel expenses a/r to Switzerland, accommodation close to SUPSI and living expenses, normally for the duration of 12 months.
