The Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence, established in 1988, is a non-profit research institute, affiliated with both the University of Lugano, and with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.
The Institute of Digital Technologies for Personalized Healthcare is active in developing new healthcare and medicine approaches by leveraging digital technologies capable of collecting, analyzing, and processing large amounts of heterogeneous data.
Close collaboration with industry, realized in numerous projects and partnerships, is the strong point of the insitute, enabling the activation of a fruitful synergy between the resources available within the academic sector and those found in the industrial world. This has resulted in a continuous upgrading of required skills within the fields, leading the institution into areas of the development of didactic and research activities.
The Institute of Systems and Applied Electronics studies aspects of electronics technologies and technical computer science as applied to product development.
The Institute of Information Systems and Networking studies issues usually classified under Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), therefore ranging from development and software engineering to networking and security by means of information system technologies.
The mission of the Institute is the innovation of products, manufacturing processes and business models in order to accompany companies in facing the challenges of globalization under the economic, environmental and social aspects.
