Research and innovation
from 12 to 16 February 2024
From 12 to 16 February 2024, the SUPSI Open Research Data Operating Committee will join other universities throughout Switzerland in celebrating Love Data. The occasion is Love Data Week, an event that takes place every year all over the world to promote awareness about the importance of data in research, their proper management, sharing, preservation, and reuse.
SUPSI's working group is committed to fostering the implementation of open research data, and this year is taking part in the initiative for the first time with some short online meetings. Among the hot topics concerning the openness of data and their correct use, topics such as informed consent, anonymization, repositories for sharing data and software, and the Data Management Plan will be discussed.
An event for specialists but dealing with a topic of great impact on the whole of society. Open data, in general, makes information and resources available and accessible to a wide public, promotes transparency, and enables the development of new applications and services, while facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors. Most of the Love Data Week events will take place online and will be open to all interested parties. All sessions are free of charge, but some require advance registration.
The national program with all initiatives is available on this page, while below is more information on the five appointments managed by the SUPSI Open Research Data Operating Committee and the links to participate in the meetings on Windows Teams.
