To complete and get the certification, you must attend at least 75% of each course schedule. This condition reduces the possibility to work regularly. During the first and second semesters, from September to July, all courses require full-time commitment. While working during evening hours can be possible, we strongly discourage students to do so. During the third semester, the thesis module, attendance is not mandatory therefore it is possible for students to combine the thesis project development with an internship at design agencies, industries, and hi-tech companies.

Following the Bologna Reform, study courses have been structured into modules and each module is allocated a number of study credits according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). A Bachelor's degree requires 180 ECTS and a Master's degree 90 to 120 ECTS.

The acclimatization time is organized over a period of 2-3 weeks and is generally followed by a few days at a reduced time. This delicate moment is necessary to create a smooth and safe transition for the baby, thus promoting his or her well-being once regular attendance begins.

A maximum of five meetings is offered to each student.

The SUPSInido centers (Manno, Viganello, and Locarno) give priority to children of SUPSI students and collaborators. However, this does not guarantee that there will be short-term availability or that it will correspond to the family’s preferred days and times. We recommend that you contact your SUPSInido center as soon as possible (during pregnancy), for a non-binding pre-registration.

No. The requirement for the acceptance to the Master of Arts in Interaction Design is a bachelor’s degree in design (graphic design, industrial design, interior design, media design, web design, etc.). If accepted, they might obtain extra ECTS credits by attending online courses or courses offered by SUPSI before or during the program.

For teaching in secondary and upper secondary schools in the canton of Ticino, it is essential to hold a qualification in the specific teaching subject (Master's degree or Diploma).

Any teaching qualification already recognised by the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK) is considered to be a cantonally recognised teaching qualification. If the qualification is already recognised by the EDK, no other qualification is required to teach in Ticino.

No, a follow-up of more than 3 sessions is not possible with a SUPSI counselor. On the other hand, if the meetings have been arranged with an external collaborator, it is possible to maintain a follow-up with them. In this case, however, the costs are not covered by SUPSI and therefore remain at your charge.

In ragione delle limitazioni delle possibilità di pratica durante la formazione, il corso di laurea in Leisure Management è a numero chiuso. Il numero di posti a disposizione è definito annualmente dalla Direzione del Dipartimento (indicativamente 35 posti). Courses run by the Department of Education and Learning usually take place in Locarno; 80% attendance is required. There are no evening courses.

In principle, yes – subject to the recovery of study credits and only for Master degrees related to one’s Bachelor degree. It is the university in which you enroll that decides on the exact amount of study credits that you need to compensate.

Between January and March each year, meetings are organised to present the courses. At the meetings, the study plans, professional opportunities and the admission procedure are presented. It is also possible to visit the premises and meet with students and teachers.

SUPSI qualifications are valid both in Switzerland and worldwide. In regulated professions, SUPSI qualifications also qualify for the profession in Switzerland, while in other countries it is necessary to check with the relevant body for recognition.

Yes, what is said during a meeting is bound to secrecy and confidentiality as required by the Swiss code of ethics for the category: “I membri sono tenuti alla segretezza su tutto quanto è stato loro confidato o è stato da loro osservato o appreso nel quadro della loro attività̀ psicologica. (…) I membri hanno la facoltà̀ di comunicare a terzi informazioni assoggettate all’obbligo di riservatezza unicamente se sussiste a riguardo il consenso comprovabile della cliente o del cliente, risp. della paziente o del paziente, se ciò̀ è richiesto da una legge federale o cantonale, se l’autorità̀ competente ha svincolato il membro interessato dal suo obbligo di riservatezza o in presenza di una situazione d’emergenza acuta.” (art. 16 codice deontologico FSP).

Possono presentarsi agli esami di graduatoria i candidati in possesso di (o che conseguiranno nell’anno scolastico in corso) uno dei seguenti titoli di studio:

• maturità professionale negli indirizzi economia e servizi (MPES)

• attestato di maturità commerciale cantonale di Bellinzona

• diploma di Scuola specializzata superiore alberghiera e del turismo (SSSAT)

• maturità estera in ambito economico con l’integrazione della pratica professionale

Ai candidati in possesso di maturità diverse da quelle indicate sopra è richiesto un periodo di pratica professionale coerente con i contenuti del programma di studio di almeno 900 ore (tra i 6 e i 12 mesi) da terminare entro l’inizio dell’anno accademico.

Surveys give results similar to those recorded by other Swiss SUP institutes.  70% of graduates are employed one year after graduation. Many also embark on an academic career by attending a master’s programme.

A Bachelor degree in Design (graphic design, industrial design, interior design, media design, web design, etc.) or an equivalent diploma is required for admission to the Master of Arts in Interaction Design. However, these applications are subject to approval by the Master's Programme Board and may require some extra ECTS credits, which can be obtained before or during the course of study.

SUPSInido centers are open from 7:45 am to 6:15 pm, from Monday to Friday, except during holidays. There are 3 weeks of summer closure and 2 weeks of Christmas closure per year.

They are a contribution to the costs of teaching (school materials, charges for visits, general administrative and secretarial costs, teaching and IT support, etc.).

The program is multidisciplinary. The class is usually composed of designers from all disciplines, architects, engineers, and individuals interested in interaction design. We look for talented people open to working in a team, with a positive attitude towards learning and facing new challenges.

The Associazione Studenti carries out various activities, for example the accompaniment of students and the organization of meeting moments that stimulate communication and sharing of ideas between students.

On average, the monthly budget is around CHF 1’500.–. This includes food/rent in shared accommodation. This amount varies and is related to personal choices.

The schedule is usually every day from 9:05 until 17:45. Students develop their project with the support of the teachers. Some days are dedicated to the personal work. The presence is mandatory only when the teachers are in class.

To guarantee educational and relational continuity for the children we host, the minimal attendance required is 40% (4 half days, 2 full days, or mixed formulas).

Students must possess a French language competence level equivalent to B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).  
Some qualifications certify French language competences equivalent to this level (for a full list, consult the document entitled Competenze in lingua francese found on the website). 
If your qualification does not certify the required level, you must make private arrangements to prepare for and take the necessary exam at a recognised certification centre. Further information can be found in the document referred to above. 

Each procedure has its own list of requirements that must be met to obtain financial support. It is up to you to evaluate and identify the option that suits you and your personal situation the best.

You must bring your own laptop. Most of the software we teach is open-source or free such as Processing, Arduino, HTML, JavaScript, D3js, and Fusion 360. Some physical and electronic prototyping materials are included in the tuition fee. Some courses have an assigned budget, and the students are asked to stay within that.

Various meetings are scheduled for the first day of the Academic Year, including an orientation meeting with the class teacher, who will explain the Annual Programme and provide details regarding how lessons are conducted, holiday periods and other information of a more general nature.

Our graduates find work all over the world at the main design agencies, hi-tech companies, start-ups, and organizations such as Frog Design, Fjord, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, Philips, Trivago, BitPanda, etc. Some of them have started their own business and successful start-ups. The employment rate for our graduates is almost 100%. Some of them start working as soon as they complete their studies while others find a qualified job within 6 months.

The subjects for the MSc Master's and SMS Diploma (subjects for which one can qualify) are agreed on a yearly basis with the Department of Education, Culture and Sport of the Canton of Ticino, and are defined in the autumn. The SUPSI Master's Degree in Teaching for Secondary Level I, the Master's Degree in Mathematics Teaching for Secondary Level I (Eng. SUP) and the Upper secondary teaching diploma are recognised by all cantons.

One ECTS corresponds to 25-30 hours of work by students. These hours include lessons, practice exercises, group work and individual study. For example, a module with 6 ECTS requires a total of approximately 150-180 hours of work. Theoretical courses consist of roughly 1/3 of the hours in class and the remaining hours are dedicated to other activities. Practical courses, on the other hand, require more hours spent in class than on individual study.
