Energy consulting in infrastructure (InfraWatt Agency)
The Swiss association InfraWatt was founded on 19 January 2010 in order to bring together and support renewable energy producers under one umbrella. Initial advice on energy in infrastructure is offered.
The public is not yet aware of the fact that sewage and waste disposal plants, as well as drinking water suppliers, today produce as much as 80% of the so-called 'renewable energy' in Switzerland. This production can be doubled in the future: in order to transform the great potential still offered by waste heat and district heating sources into 'green' energy, to inform the public and to increase their political clout, the trade associations VSA, VBSA, SVGW, the Swiss District Heating Association (VFS) and representatives of the economy and the electricity industry came together at the constitutive assembly of the, in a new association called InfraWatt.
The association also consists of political representatives to improve the implementation of framework measures for the development of energy projects, but also to represent the needs of this sector.
For Italian-speaking Switzerland, the Institute of Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment is the competence centre.
