RNI measurements
Service provided by the Institute of Systems and Applied Electronics (ISEA) for emissions from GSM, UMTS and LTE mobile telephony and from analogue and digital broadcasting equipment (Accredited by the Federal Office of Metrology and METAS/SAS accreditation for performing measurements of Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR) generated by radio base stations).
Since 2001, the Materials and Construction Institute of the Department of Environment, Constructions and Design (DACD) of SUPSI has obtained official accreditation (STS0309) from the Federal Office of Metrology and Accreditation METAS/SAS to perform measurements of Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR) generated by GSM radio base stations.
These measurements are carried out by the Institute of Systems and Applied Electronics (ISEA) of the Department of Innovative Technologies on the basis of the ISO17025 quality system.
In accordance with technological developments, since 2006 the accreditation has been extended to measurements for emissions from third-generation UMTS mobile telephony and since 2013 also to emissions from fourth-generation LTE installations and analogue and digital broadcasting installations. In this area, the laboratory is recognised as an excellent independent partner for carrying out expert opinions.
