S. Sbaragli - Quality as the mainstay
SUPSI Image Focus
Silvia is a SUPSI Professor in Mathematics Didactics with an active eye on quality, an aspect to be considered across the board. Whether in Education, Research or Services, quality can have an important impact on the generations of tomorrow.
How do you view the evaluation procedures of your degree courses integrated within SUPSI's Quality Assurance System?
I consider the degree evaluation procedures to be well structured and calibrated to investigate the different aspects involved in the teaching-learning process. The outcomes of such procedures represent a good opportunity for us teachers to readjust the course and teaching style according to the feedback received.
Do you feel that students are adequately involved in the process of improving their education?
Several steps forward have been taken in this respect in recent years, but it is a subject that could still be further explored, involving students more closely in the continuous process of improving their education, especially from the point of view of flexibility and personalisation of learning.
As part of the institutional accreditation procedure, how did you experience the visit of the panel of experts? What memories do you have of this experience?
The visit of the group of experts was a good opportunity for all those involved to share, grow and improve. It was indeed an opportunity to identify the common aspects but also the specificities that characterise the different departments and affiliated schools and to open up to an outside view.
What does quality represent for you in your daily activities?
It represents a mainstay on which all our activities converge, regardless of whether it is Research, Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, Continuing Education or Services. Indeed, I believe that this should be one of the key words in our daily work.
