Manuela Guggiari is the director of the Canton's Institute for Continuing Education. An institution dedicated to lifelong learning.
What does quality represent for IFC - the Canton's Institute for Continuing Education?
Quality for us is a reference system that should help us to structure, in a flexible and adaptable way, an organisation such as the IFC that designs a wide range of courses that meet the demands of multiple audiences such as entrepreneurs, professional categories, private individuals, associations, apprentices.... guaranteeing the best possible service.
What added value has eduQua certification brought to your training institution?
EduQua is specific to continuing education and allows us to better identify specific points for constant improvement according to our type of activity. The choice was made on the basis of an analysis of the EduQua criteria and how they best suited our training context. After careful consideration, we decided to remain with the EduQua certification system because of its affinity with our professional sector.
EduQua certification is a guarantee for our users as well as for the partners and authorities with whom we work.
Why did you choose SUPSI's Certification Service to certify your Quality Management System?
The choice was made on the basis of the good collaboration and cooperation, demonstrated over the years, with representatives of the SUPSI Certification Service, which has always guaranteed us continuity and support.
How did you experience the certification process?
It is always a moment of healthy reflection on what has happened and what will happen in our professional activity, thanks to which we can have constructive comparisons with fellow EduQua specialists with a view to the continuous improvement of our offer for the benefit of our users and regional and national continuing education. Preparing for an 'audit' is always laborious and requires a lot of rigour, but it is an opportunity for us to reflect on what we do, how we do it and how we could do it better. It is therefore a constructive and stimulating moment for the whole IFC team.
What does quality represent in the daily activities of IFC employees?
A tool to guide their activities and identify risks from which they can take opportunities for improvement. For us, quality is the compass for maintaining a continuous and constant improvement process in our institute.
