The Service is also and above all deeply engaged in applied research, which is essential to improve technical skills and establish a network useful to achieve its main goals.

More specifically, we actively take part in seminars, symposia, and scientific conferences in the field of cyber intelligence and information security sciences suggesting research topics that match our ordinary activity of offering technical-scientific support to companies and law
enforcement institutions. In particular, we consider models and approaches to crime analysis
pertaining to software engineering, which are often useful to shape a system and have a
structural understanding of its main features.

Thanks to such activities, those who participate have the chance to exchange ideas with other
colleagues active on a national as well as international level, while keeping constantly and
extremely up-to-date.
