Multi-Purpose PV Module Tester

Acronimo MPVT

Abstract The main goal of this project is to upgrade a standard solar simulator for measurements of PV modules under standard test conditions (STC: 1000W/m², 25°C, AM1.5) to a Multi-purpose PV Solar Simulator, able to fulfil a much higher range of test conditions within one set of combinable units. The heart of such a system is the electronic load, which has to respond to all requirements of a multipurpose solar simulator. A new electronic load will therefore be developed by the industry partner PASAN, one of the major PV testing equipment manufacturers, in collaboration with the two research partners (ISAAC and ISEA). The new MPVT electronic load (Multi-Purpose PV Module Tester) will be proposed at testing and research laboratories worldwide and will be the basis for the development of a high efficient and cost effective in-line tester for module manufacturers.
