SMIRE Semantic Music Information Retrieval Engine

Acronimo SMIRE

Abstract The goal of the SMIRE project is to create a powerful and flexible music retrieval mechanism able to discover music similarities, using semantic web technologies. This project represents an extension of previous research and works carried out at the LSMS Lab.; in particular, it is based on the results of the Tonal MIR project. SMIRE can be defined as a ?precompetitive project?. The main outcome will be a demonstrative prototype able to show the potential of semantic web technologies and their wide applicability in the context of music retrieval on various kinds of devices.
