Abstract -This project is implemented within the activities of the thematic area LWS - LUCI - The project intends to analyze the impact and the legacy of the Youth Olympics Games (October 2018) in the Comuna 8 neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Developing this case study will productively contribute to the growing research field on the consequences of global events within urban environments, particularly focusing on Latin America (where the last Olympics took place, Rio de Janeiro 2016). The project will be developed through literature reviews, the analysis of institutional documents, and a set of 15 in-depth interviews, to investigate the transformations induced by the Olympic Village within Comuna 8, focusing on how it changed the urban and social texture and shining light on the positive and negative aspects in terms of social empowerment, equal distribution of gains from the event, and dynamics of inclusion or exclusion that it generated.
