E.U.RE.C.A.Com – Emerging Urban REconfiguration and Citizenship Arrangements in Com.parison
Acronimo EURECACOM
Abstract E.U.RE.C.A.Com is an action-research project focusing on human mobility and the city. It aims to investigate the ways in which multiple mobilities impact and transform socio-urban areas, living and producing new spaces and developing new practices of urban citizenship, with a specific focus on the technologies for mobilities. It will analyze the infrastructure and urban projects that obstruct or make possible human flows. The case studies focus on the emerging digital aspects. The aim of the research is to analyze how mobilities and flows shape contemporary urban territory adopting a technological perspective, and to propose policies and actions to deal with their disruptive effects. The project identifies three different case studies with a trans-disciplinary approach: Ticino, Buenos Aires and Quito. The ambition is to deeply innovate the urban concepts and methodology for investigating and acting in cities, and it will work with qualitative methods, theoretical elaborations, and action-research practices. It will produce policy briefs, working papers, datasets, ethnographic materials, open access publications and public events.
