  • Description
  • The training prepares for teaching in primary school, i.e. for children between 6 and 10 years of age. The professional figure of reference is the generalist teacher. The main educational function consists in promoting the global development of the student and encouraging the acquisition of cognitive, affective and social tools for understanding the world. The training is strongly focused on the interaction between theory and practice, with several periods of professional practice to be carried out in the chosen school sector and conceived in close synergy with the theoretical, applicative and professional modules that characterize the training.

Objectives

The training finds its centre in the interaction between professional practice and theoretical-applicative modules that aim at building a solid preparation that involves the acquisition and progressive mastery of a basic instrumentation on a disciplinary, didactic and educational level. It will of course have to be constantly improved and updated, according to the principle of continuous training throughout the whole career, as a response to the continuous changes on the socio-economic and cultural level.

Skills

The professional figure of the compulsory school teacher requires skills that span multiple dimensions, therefore the skills he or she must have at his or her disposal touch on very wide fields: they range from social-relational skills that favour the setting up of a fruitful relationship with the pupils in order to facilitate their learning process, to professional skills that concern the relationship between knowledge and its didactic transposition.
