  • A CHF 100 fee must be paid when the application is made. This fee is not reimbursable, and cannot be deducted from the semester fee.

  • The semester fee amounts to CHF 1,600. This sum is reduced to CHF 800 for students who benefit from the application of the ASUP Intercantonal Agreement for Vocational Universities (Swiss nationality or civil and fiscal domicile in Switzerland or in Liechtenstein). Contribution to didactic costs: CHF 80.

  • Description
  • The training, which lasts 3 years full-time, prepares students from 3 to 5 years of age for teaching in the pre-compulsory education sector. The central function of the teacher in this age group is to stimulate and mediate confrontation between children in the discovery and knowledge of external and internal reality through different ways of working and starting from meaningful situations, in tune with the needs and the emotional and cognitive growth of the children.

Objectives

The training finds its centre in the interaction between professional practice and theoretical-applicative modules that aim at building a solid preparation that involves the acquisition and progressive mastery of a basic instrumentation on a disciplinary, didactic and educational level. It will of course have to be constantly improved and updated, according to the principle of continuous training throughout the whole career, as a response to the continuous changes on the socio-economic and cultural level.


Skills

The professional figure of the compulsory school teacher requires skills that span multiple dimensions, therefore the skills he or she must have at his or her disposal touch on very wide fields: they range from social-relational skills that favour the setting up of a fruitful relationship with the pupils in order to facilitate their learning process, to professional skills that concern the relationship between knowledge and its didactic transposition.

Career prospects

The title qualifies for teaching in nursery schools (primary level, school years: 1-2).
