Personal Details Jan Hardie was born in Scotland in 1958. After graduation, she travelled the world for 3 years, pursuing her passion for high mountains, and her strong interest in experiencing different cultures and languages. She has lived in Italy since 1983.

Education and training Master of Arts (Honours) in Social Anthropology, University of Edinburgh,1979. Diploma in Business Administration, University of Edinburgh, 1980.

Work experience On moving to Italy, she worked for Olivetti S.p.A. in Milan. She subsequently decided to pursue her long-standing interest in languages and in the language-acquisition process, entering the English language teaching sector. In 2005 she joined SUPSI and currently works as an English teacher, translator and Cambridge Oral Examiner. She has participated in a number of research projects funded by the Swiss Federation and the European Commission. She was appointed as Coordinator of CLIP Language Centre (Manno) in 2017.

Skills English Language Teaching, Italian-English translation, creation of didactic materials in the field of digital technologies, organisation and administration of the activities of the CLIP Language Centre (Manno).
