Researcher (w/m) in intelligent energy systems team

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), opens a position at the Department Environment Constructions and Design (DACD) based in Canobbio, at the Institute for Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC), for a Researcher for the Intelligent Energy Systems team. The occupancy degree is 100%.

Duties

  • Active participation in the Intelligent Energy Systems team's research projects in the field of intelligent energy management and integration of renewable energy sources (in particular photovoltaics) into the electricity grid.
  • Data analysis, in particular of time series (forecasting, clustering, classification, identification of anomalies, etc.) and development of models.
  • Development of predictive control strategies and simulation tools.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Data Science, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent with good knowledge in control theory, optimization or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience after the end of the studies.
  • Excellent knowledge of operational research, automatic control, agent-based simulation and prediction theory and filtering.
  • Excellent level of programming (in particular Python and Matlab).
  • Good knowledge of algorithms and machine learning software.
  • Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Aptitude for both team and individual work.
  • Good knowledge of Italian and English language (writing and speaking). Knowledge of a second national language is a preferential title.
