Ph.D. Students in the area of algorithms

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) has opened two positions at the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) located in the new USI-SUPSI Campus in Lugano-Viganello (Campus Est), in particular at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA), two full time (100%) positions for Ph.D. Students in the area of algorithms. Contract start 1.11.2021 or date to be agreed.

Tasks

  • Design and analysis of algorithms and data structures, with a special focus on approximation algorithms for network problems and resource scheduling.
  • Moderate teaching duties as TA for classes at USI and SUPSI.
  • Publications in journals and conferences of good level.
  • Writing a Ph.D. thesis.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Computer Science or related areas (obtained or close to be obtained).
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
