Assistant with Bachelor/Master degree for the Institute of Design

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), opens a position at the Department of constructions, environment and design (DACD) in Mendrisio, for an Assistant at the Institute of Design. Starting date: to be defined.The position requires a full time (100%) commitment.

Tasks

  • Supporting the coordination of the project “Open Science for the Arts, Design and Music” https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Open_Science_for_Arts,_Design_and_Music.
  • Producing researches, guidelines, reports and papers related to open science, open data and online collaborative projects with a focus on the disciplinary fields of art, design and music.
  • Supporting and coaching researchers, teachers and librarians in implementing Open Science.
  • Contributing to the implementation and development of applied research projects of the Institute of Design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master degree in a discipline related to the department's areas of activity, less than 3 years of professional experience after completion of studies.
  • Ability to research and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize and reporting results.
  • Proficient knowledge of written and spoken English. The mastery of Italian and second national language is a preferential title.
  • Good communication skills to support and coach researchers, educators and librarians.
  • Good relationship skills, team work and autonomy in managing technical and organizational problems.
  • Knowledge and experience related to copyright legislation, open science, open data management, open access, open software, open online collaborative projects, fair data, open platforms and repositories, Creative Commons licenses or European and Swiss Open Science policies.
  • Interest in the disciplinary fields of arts, design and music.
  • Knowledge of the academic system, as well as previous experience in the field of European and national Swiss funded research or open projects are preferential qualifications.
