University of Music of Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana

The University of Music (CSI-SUM) is one of the three schools of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, which was established in 1985 and which has been affiliated with SUPSI since 2005.

SUM recognition enabled the Conservatorio to lay down solid foundations for its constant growth and continuously new objectives.
Flexible study programmes, cutting-edge research projects, teachers who are also artists at the pinnacle of the international concert panorama.

Together with the growing number of courses conducted at the post-graduate level, the Conservatorio runs 2 Bachelor of Arts programmes, and 4 Master of Arts programmes.

Teaching and research are closely linked. The reciprocal inspiration provided by these two areas is a key element of the educational approach that inspires the School and that facilitates the creation of excellent musicians and teachers.

Fernfachhochschule Schweiz

Since 1998 the Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS) has conducted Federally-acknowledged distance-learning degree courses in the fields of Economics, Computer Science and Engineering, while also administering regional centres in Zurich, Basle, Berne and Brig.

The FFHS conducts 6 Bachelor Degree courses, 1 Master Degree course, 1 Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) course, 8 Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) courses, 5 Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) courses, and several Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) courses and seminars.

The incorporation of FFHS into SUPSI generates synergies that are essential for becoming a national competence centre in the field of distance learning. In addition to the Federal recognition, SUPSI affiliation was crucial in obtaining Federal authorisation for the Master in Business Administration and in the promotion of research projects.
