I'm a PhD candidate in Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran. I'm developing a Multi-Metric Index (MMI) based on macroinvertebrate communities for the Karun river, the biggest river of Iran, located in an arid and semi-arid climate region. My research focuses on disentangling the effects of natural spatio-temporal variabilities in macroinvertebrate communities from the effects of anthropogenic disturbances. Moreover, I'm developing MMIs based on functional traits of macroinvertebrates and compare them with taxonomic based MMIs. I'm at SUPSI for part of my PhD supported by a Swiss Excellence scholarship.
