Visit of the Virginia Tech GPP delegation
03 June 2019
On Monday, June 3, we welcomed the annual visit of the Virginia Tech Global Perspectives Program (GPP) delegation.

The purpose of the Global Perspectives Program (GPP) is to give PhD students, as future faculty members, a global perspective on higher education.

The GGP allows PhD students to examine differences in academic practices and to develop innovative and effective approaches that foster international awareness and education.

During the meeting we talked about the dual Swiss educational model and in particular the particularities of the UAS. After an overview of SUPSI we presented some interesting multidisciplinary projects such as the Startup Garage, presented by Prof. Mauro Citraro and Prof. Lorenzo Sommaruga, and a theoretical study on the preparation of students for interprofessional collaboration, by Prof. Dr. Monica Bianchi.
In addition, our Director for Research and Innovation, Prof. Giambattista Ravano, spoke about applied research in SUPSI, with examples for each axis of research.
