SEMP Mondial

The national agency Movetia also finances worldwide (non-European) mobility for study or training purposes through the SEMP programme.

Non-European partner institutions for study mobility must be officially recognised tertiary education institutions. They must offer a recognised degree or other recognised tertiary qualification at university level according to the laws and practices of the country in which they are located. In addition, they must subscribe to the principles of the SEMP / ECHE Charter.

The SEMP programme provides support to incoming students with three different types of flat-rate scholarships, according to the length of the course attended:

   • Mini flat-rate scholarship (2-3 months):   CHF 1'430 / 1'750 depending on the university of origin*
   • Flat-rate half-yearly scholarship: CHF 2'000 / 2'500 depending on the university of origin*
   • Flat-rate academic year sholarship: CHF 3'900 / 5'000 depending on the university of origin*

While the support for students on traineeship mobility is calculated according to the actual duration of days as follows:

     • 500 : 30 x actual days

These amounts are valid for the academic year 2023/2024, according to the guidelines of the national agency Movetia, subject to the number of grants received by SUPSI in support of the SEMP programme.

A flat rate of CHF 100 for eco-responsible mobility is included in the grant (Green Travel).

Students who do not use a low carbon means of transport such as train, bus or carpool for their outbound and return journeys (from home to place of mobility destination) therefore receive CHF 100 less.

Mobility for study implies a minimum of 2 complete months study (60 days).

The scholarship will be paid as follows, in compliance with the financing period:

  • • 90% at the beginning of the mobility
  • • 10% at the end of the mobility

The payment will be carried out after delivery of all the documentation listed in the financial agreement.

Take notice
Please be reminded that in order to receive the scholarship it is compulsory for the student to live in Switzerland during the mobility period.
