Various SUPSI training courses provide for the development of practical modules (internshisp) with global professional partners. A number of degree courses offer the possibility of hosting various students who plan a training period at institutions during the course of their education.
These mobilities must last at least 2 months (60 days) and can be financed through the SEMP program. At the base there must always be an inter-institutional agreement.
The student must be selected by his university who sends an official nomination to SUPSI International Office. The student remains registered with his university of origin and continues to pay his tuition fees there.
Students who carry out a whole year mobility with an alternation between classroom training and practical modules, must apply as study mobility.
Nomination
Nominations and applications for an exchange semester are only accepted via Mobility Online. The Partner institutions will receive all information and the relevant link by e-mail. Applications submitted otherwise will not be taken into account.
If the corresponding institution (college/university) is not listed in the online nomination form or for general enquiries regarding the registration procedure, please contact the International Office.

- For next spring semester: by October 31
Deadline for student application:

Scholarship for Call 2022
The SEMP program provides support to mobility students with a scholarship that depends on the actual length of the traineeship.
- monthly scholarship of CHF440
However, to determine the amount of the grant you must divide the monthly scholarship of CHF 440 by the days of the month (a month always corresponds to 30 days) and then multiply the result by the actual days of the traineeship.
These rates are valid for the academic year 2022/2023, as per the Swiss agency Movetia directives, subject to the number of scholarships received by SUPSI supported by the SEMP programme.
Mobility for study implies a minimum of 2 complete months study (60 days).
The scholarship will be paid as follows, in compliance with the financing period:
- 90% at the beginning of the mobility
- 10% at the end of the mobility
The payment will be carried out after delivery of all the documentation listed in the financial agreement.
Take notice
Please be reminded that in order to receive the scholarship it is compulsory for the student to live in Switzerland during the mobility period.
Scholarship for Call 2023
The SEMP program provides support to mobility students with a scholarship that depends on the actual length of the traineeship.
- monthly scholarship of CHF440/30 x days + 100
However, to determine the amount of the grant you must divide the monthly scholarship of CHF 440 by the days of the month (a month always corresponds to 30 days) and then multiply the result by the actual days of the traineeship.
These rates are valid for the academic year 2022/2023, as per the Swiss agency Movetia directives, subject to the number of scholarships received by SUPSI supported by the SEMP programme.
Mobility for study implies a minimum of 2 complete months study (60 days).
A flat rate of CHF 100 for eco-responsible mobility is included in the grant (Green Travel).
Students who do not use a low carbon means of transport such as train, bus or carpool for their outbound and return journeys (from home to place of mobility destination) therefore receive CHF 100 less.

For all other degree courses the Learning Agreement must be prepared on Mobility Online once all documents for the application have been delivered.
Non-native Italian speaking students are required to demonstrate their level of knowledge of the Italian language by sending the result of the Testpodium language test to international@supsi.ch within the prescribed deadline for the application.

Incomplete applications will not be taken into account. Applications are accepted only via Mobility Online. Those carried out with other means cannot be taken into account.
Application Acceptance
Students who have been accepted will receive information from the International Office regarding all bureaucratic, insurance and housing issues.
Learning agreement for traineeship
Learning agreements for practical modules are defined in the utmost detail, so changes are rare upon arrival in Ticino. If so, the student must immediately contact the SUPSI departmental mobility coordinator and that of the university of origin for the changes and the collection of signatures.
The student must have a copy signed by all concerned parties before his arrival.
Arrival and stay at SUPSI
Once all organisational aspects have been defined, the International Office sets up a meeting with mobility students. The meeting, which is compulsory, is aimed at completing any administrative paperwork and at the acquisition of useful information for the stay in Ticino.
The International Office remains available for the entire period of mobility for administrative matters; for the contents of the mobility the reference person is the SUPSI departmental coordinator.
The student will then be able to participate in some extracurricular activities organised by the International Office, the SUPSI Student Association and ESN (Erasmus Student Network).
Photos, videos and testimonials are always welcome. They can be published directly on SUPSI International Facebook page or sent to the international Office.
Certification and departure
A meeting with the International Office is also scheduled before leaving. During this meeting the bureaucratic aspects related to the departure are verified and the student will be given the certificate of attendance. The student must instead deliver the final report provided by the SEMP program and a testimony related to his experience at SUPSI.
Certification
The SUPSI departmental mobility coordinator will take care of sending the certification directly to the university of origin of the student.
