Lifting pumps are a field of interest to be explored in order to identify the potential for saving electricity in Ticino.
The project estimated the energy consumption of the lifting pumps present in the aqueducts in the cantonal territory in order to evaluate which are suitable for energy efficiency and to what extent. To achieve the result, technical inspections were carried out at the pumping stations, and were estimated consumption, possible savings in terms of efficiency and a total calculation at cantonal level.
