Solar Competence Center in Ethiopia - Sahay

The Solar Competence Center in Etiopia for the production of delocalised solar electricity.
Ethiopia has more than 84 million inhabitants and is one of the most densely populated nations in Africa. The vast territory and the distributed localisation of the population throughout the various agricultural regions of the country mean that approximately 85% of the inhabitants are finding it increasingly difficult to access an electricity supply.
A significant research project was launched based on a proposal by Sahay Solar Solutions and thanks to the commitment of the SUPSI Solar Competence Center. A collaboration agreement with the Ethiopian University of Arba Minch (AMU) was fundamental. The project envisages solar energy generated, or taken directly to, where it is needed.
