How can public transport be promoted as a replacement for individual car journeys? 
SocialCar overturns the traditional perspective, focussing on transportation integration, instead of on competition between the various means of transport. In order to achieve this, the project has developed the smartphone app RideMyRoute, which helps users find new travel options, combining public transport with car rides offered by other citizens (carpooling). The flexibility of the car combines with the advantages of public transport, creating new options for moving efficiently from one place to another.   
In November, 2017 RideMyRoute will be tested in Canton Ticino and in three major European cities: Brussels, Edinburgh and Ljubljana, engaging normal citizens struggling with their daily mobility needs.
