The team mission is to evaluate the dynamics of the energy system and identify trends and patterns, considering primary energy sources, energy carriers, stakeholders, energy policies and regulatory measures.

Research activities focus on:

• developing a framework that can encompass and interlink all major stakeholders in the energy sector
• identifying key variables, and their short-term and long-term impact on the adoption rate and application of sustainable energy technologies
• simulating scenarios that test the effectiveness of policies in the dynamic and complex process of transition of the energy system, in the context of achieving goals set by the Swiss Energy Strategy 2050
