The Institute offers services in the areas related to renewable energies, the rational use of energy and energy efficiency, including building refurbishment and maintenance. ISAAC activities also consist of energy planning at the regional and local levels, based on environmental, economic and social criteria. 
The Institute also hosts the SUPSI PVLab, the only ISO 17025 accredited photovoltaic laboratory in Switzerland, which provides testing and calibration services for indoor and outdoor electrical characterisation, climatic and mechanical tests, and safety tests for photovoltaic modules. These services can be provided at all phases of photovoltaic products, from research and development until the module is operational.
