KITT4SME, a Horizon 2020 project, has announced its second open call in June 2022.

Type-B open call will provide up to €200k of EU funding to the teams consisting of at least one solution provider having a mature AI solution for the manufacturing industry and at least one end user active in the discrete manufacturing areas. Submissions will be closed on 12 August 2022.

  • Eligible applicants are the SMEs and mid-caps in the H2020 countries.
  • Maximum funding is €200k per consortium. A total of €1,5 million will be distributed.
  • Proposals should aim to integrate an AI solution to the KITT4SME platform and to perform a real-life demonstration in a manufacturing environment.

 

KITT4SME at a glance

KITT4SME aims to create a platform holding composable modules of AI kits for the use of the SMEs in the manufacturing industry.

To populate the platform with reliable AI solutions, KITT4SME will distribute a total of €2,5 millions of EU funding through 2 types of open calls:
 

  • Type-A: invited AI solution providers that are SMEs and mid-caps which offer AI based solution with a value for the manufacturing industry.
  • Type-B: invites small teams of solution providers and end users to conduct pilot experiments.

Type-A open call has been closed on December 2021 with receiving 45 proposals across Europe. After a competitive selection, 10 proposals from 6 countries are granted with a total of €966k. The awarded actions have started integrating their AI solutions to the KITT4SME platform on March 2022 and 10 new AI solutions will be available next year.

Type-B Open Call

For populating the KITT4SME platform with even more tested and validated AI solutions, KITT4SME has announced its second open call in June 2022. This time, AI solution providers and end users in the manufacturing sector are expected to apply as a team and to work collaboratively on demonstrating the functionalities of the AI solution.

The maximum duration of a proposed action can be 12 months and the activities should start in February 2023. The awarded proposals will receive up to €200k of EU funding in the form of lump-sum.
