The Department of Innovative Technologies opened its doors to prospective students, offering an in-depth look at its degree programmes and related career opportunities. Participants had the chance to explore the distinctive features of each course and gain a clearer understanding of their future professional paths.
Alongside presentations, the programme featured a wide range of interactive activities, including labo tours, live project demonstrations, and testimonials from current students and alumni, who shared their academic experiences.
A key highlight of this year’s edition was the presentation of the PiBS pathways (Bachelor of Science with integrated practice), now available across all programmes. Tailored for students holding a general upper-secondary diploma or a vocational diploma not directly linked to engineering, the PiBS model includes a year of practical training in a company during the third year of study, combining academic learning with hands-on professional experience.
Dedicated stands also showcased the Department’s student services: the International Office outlined exchange and mobility opportunities in Switzerland and abroad; the Startup Garage presented its support for innovative entrepreneurial projects; and the Student Association promoted its activities, events and networking initiatives.
Looking ahead, the next opportunity to experience university life at DTI and Campus Est will be the Open Lessons, taking place from 23 to 27 March, allowing participants to attend real classes and engage directly with lecturers and students.
For Bachelor graduates interested in further specialisation, the Master of Science in Engineering will present its specialisation profiles every Thursday in March.
