Francesca, Project Manager at Hupac Intermodal SA, has participated in several Continuing Education courses in Project Management from the Department of Innovative Technologies. She calls it "a well-rounded experience for those who want to focus on their professional and personal growth."
What made you choose a Continuing Education course?
The choice came in steps: starting with the need to explore aspects related to continuous improvement, then the world of processes, to cover some business needs. This combined with my desire to embark on a path of professional growth, which would allow me to adapt my skills to the new opportunities that were emerging. In parallel, an additional need arose: structured project management to facilitate change processes. Having finished the first CAS, given my enthusiasm and the fertile ground found in the company, I was drawn into the vortex of continuing education.
What course did you take and why specifically at the Department of Innovative Technologies?
I completed the MAS in Project, Program and Portfolio Management with great fulfillment. Thanks to word of mouth among colleagues, who were satisfied with their course at SUPSI, I learned about DTI. So many aspects make the experience at DTI positive: in addition to the individual study following the lectures and the additional insights, an integral part of the courses offered is the confrontation and networking with fellow students, who come from different business realities as well as from more diverse educational backgrounds. DTI encourages the practical application, in one's own work reality, of what is learned in class.
How did your work life change after the course?
My path has been significant, both in professional and personal terms: it has conveyed to me a real passion for the world of Project Management and Lifelong Learning. I have registered short-, medium- and long-term effects: immediately I had the opportunity to deepen many aspects of my work reality, allowing me to acquire a new and more conscious perspective. Gradually I changed my job description and now, at various levels, I am involved in Project Management and Continuous Improvement in a technical department of a leading intermodal transportation company. The skills I acquired are also applicable in my personal life: the DTI gave me a great desire to learn and to put myself out there, stepping out of my comfort zone.
Would you recommend this experience and why?
A full yes! It is deeply challenging, thanks in part to the lecturers: professionals well versed in theory but also with the practical approach needed to make a difference.
