Assistant with master’s degree in the area of intelligent control of networked systems
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) has opened a full-time position for a Assistant with master's degree in the area of intelligent control of networked systems in the field of exoskeleton design and control, at the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) based at the USI-SUPSI university campus in Lugano, within the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI). The contract starts on 01.07.2026 or date to be agreed.
Duties
- Assist the LEON robotics group in innovative research related to the Innosuisse GROUDONExo project, designing the mechanical and control framework of an occupational exoskeleton, validating it with users.
- Methodological derivation and experimental validation of methods and development of projects within the targeted field.
- International collaboration.
- Collaboration with the robotics team of LEON (https://leon.idsia.ch/).
- Publishing papers in international journals and conferences.
Requirements
- Technical background and skills
- Master (already achieved) in mechanical, automation, or similar engineering in the field of exoskeletons.
- Excellent programming skills (Python, ROS).
- Very good communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment.
- Autonomy.
- Experimental Master thesis.
- Open-source software development.
