February 29th, 2024
from 17:00 to 18:30
The Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care (DEASS) and the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana are organising a six-day lecture series entitled "Transdisciplinary Research: Its Nature and Value for Society".
We highlight the conference cycle on transdisciplinarity in view of its priority position for SUPSI's future 2025-2035 strategy, as well as the strategic importance assigned to transdisciplinarity in future strategic lines by federal funding agencies, which identify it as a distinctive paradigm of new national and international research standards.
The series of events will conclude on Thursday 29 February with a panel discussion entitled "Teaching and Learning TDR Competences at SUPSI", in which Gertrude Hirsch Hadorn, Emanuele Carpanzano, Magda Ramadan and Gian Luca Di Tanna will take part.
Theme of the evening
Once the goals and principles of TDR are understood and endorsed by the SUPSI community, its next step will be translating them into practice. Essential in this process will be to recognize that TDR requires a specific mindset and methods for understanding the complexity of real-world problems and for integrating relevant academic and non-academic TDR actors in providing knowledge for problem-solving. Creating novel learning units facilitates the acquisition of TDR competences. Opportunities and challenges that the new learning structures may create for SUPSI’s organization will also be discussed.
Information
The lectures will be held in English.
Participation is for free.
