Why did you choose to attend this continuing education program?
Thank you for this interview. Even though I had just completed my Bachelor’s degree in Finance and begun my first steps in the professional world, particularly in Venture Capital, I felt the need to keep growing both academically and personally. While browsing the university’s website, I came across this new program on artificial intelligence and its application to business processes. As technology and AI are passions of mine, I immediately saw it as a unique chance to combine learning with practical application in my field, and I didn’t hesitate to enroll.
Which aspects of the program do you find particularly useful for your professional growth?
Beyond the technical skills and knowledge, what I found most valuable was the mindset the instructors – Michela, Massimo, Laura, and others – were able to instill. Learning to approach challenges with a Lean and Agile perspective was a true added value, and I was able to apply it immediately in my workplace.
This mindset, in fact, enabled me to develop a Proof of Concept at Zest, aimed at making the startup scouting process more efficient and intelligent. We are building a platform that leverages artificial intelligence to automatically analyze large datasets, structuring them into an interactive knowledge graph. The system maps startups, market trends, investors, and partnerships, delivering a clear, real-time, and navigable overview. In practice, it not only reduces analysis time dramatically but also reveals connections and opportunities that would otherwise remain hidden with traditional methods.
This project became a concrete testing ground to apply what I learned during the program – from ideation to prototyping and initial validation with my team. For me, it represents a tangible example of how education can translate directly into operational value.
How has the program helped you expand your network?
The program has significantly broadened my network and opened valuable doors. At 22, it is not always easy to be taken seriously by more experienced professionals, but thanks to the support of Michela and Massimo I was able to gain access to important contacts. Through the course, I connected with organizations such as the Swiss Drone Center, where I am now collaborating on a project, as well as with foundations, venture capital firms, and various stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. I also had the opportunity to attend major events, including the Action Day in Lugano.
Equally meaningful was the network built with fellow participants. The relationships were based on open exchange and mutual support—an environment that is far from obvious to find. I believe this sense of community will remain one of the most valuable and lasting outcomes I will carry forward over time
