Round table: Artificial Intelligence and the future of university education
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant prospect: it is already an integral part of educational processes, professions and economic dynamics. Universities, as places of intellectual and social growth, are called upon to anticipate challenges and prepare students and teachers for radical change. The discussion will focus on how AI is redefining roles, skills and learning methods, raising new questions about the very meaning of academic education.
Aim of the meeting
To help identify emerging challenges in a timely manner and outline concrete strategies for consciously integrating AI into teaching and professional training.
Guiding questions
Universities will have to shift the emphasis from technical execution to the critical ability to interpret, supervise and apply in real-world contexts. How can we prepare future graduates to enter the world of work with managerial skills and strategic thinking abilities?
It is crucial to teach methods rather than solutions, to train students not to delegate skills to AI, to “use tools wisely”, to emphasise oral and logical pedagogical models, and to simulate real work scenarios in which AI is part of the process. What pedagogical approaches can facilitate this transformation?
