Many children find it difficult to manage frustration and anger. Their ability to tolerate frustrating situations is often limited, and their emotions tend to manifest themselves immediately and intensely.
This conference begins with a brief overview of the main issues related to emotional self-regulation in children. It then presents some key interventions that parents can implement to prevent outbursts of anger and support their child in gradually developing better management of their emotions.
The educational objectives of the conference include recognising the individual factors that make managing emotions more complex, as well as the contextual factors that can accentuate these difficulties, identifying the main difficulties of emotional regulation in children, defining the conditions necessary to promote good emotional regulation and, finally, learning about different strategies to propose to children to recognise, modulate (calm down) and express their emotions.
